Bottega Veneta launches Bottega Residency

April 06, 2020
These days we all sometimes need a bit of light relief and distraction from the news cycle. One brand that takes social media initiative and helps us stress down from everything that is happening in the world right now is Bottega Veneta.

Vogue had a chat with the Creative Director for the brand, Daniel Lee, about their new launch - Bottega residency.

Bottega residency is a new social media initiative where we will see weekly Instagram-takeovers from creative people. Daniel explains the reasoning behind the project as they “really wanted to do something to provide a sense of escapism, and to support our creative communities and freelancers”. He goes on by putting emphasis on the importance of still being able to dream in order to get through difficult times.

What inspires inspiring people you might ask? Well, Daniel Lee finds animations as one of them, as they are imaginative and intelligent, but also surprisingly enough the Simpsons. He emphasizes that it is challenging to stay optimistic in the midst of this period, but that the creative community continues to inspire him so that is where he puts his energy in now. Lee also highlights the deep kindness in human beings that he sees all around now, which reflects the true beauty of people. He is staying close to his family, although everything is now digitally.

We are excited to see what will be of Daniel Lee in the nearest future, and he is dropping hints that we might see more of a real mix of creative people - both old and new collaborations and some unexpected ones.
