Burberry is introducing the TB Bag

April 02, 2019
Introduced on the Spring/Summer 2019 runway as part of Riccardo Tisci’s debut collection for Burberry, the TB Bag references the initials of the fashion house’s founder, Thomas Burberry. The bag, which features heavily across Riccardo’s inaugural collection, is one of the first handbag styles designed by him for the British fashion house.

THE COLLECTION

Made in Italy using classic calf leather, the structured bag comes with a detachable chain or leather strap. The leather is chrome tanned for a long-lasting colour and the edges are hand- painted.

The collection features a range of colours, styles and sizes including a small and medium bag, bum bag and envelope clutch, all with bespoke Thomas Burberry Monogram hardware.

The colour palette ranges from black, dark brown and crimson to softer shades of pink, honey and pistachio. Bicolour styles include black with a white Burberry London England logo, black with a deer print, and oxblood with an intarsia Monogram pattern.

Handmade in Italy, the Thomas Burberry Monogram hardware featured on the bag celebrates the heritage of the house in a return to the spirit of its founder. The clasp is available in a range of colours including light gold, silver, turquoise, and faux tortoiseshell.

New styles will join the collection including canvas and all over Monogram embossed styles, from May.

About the Thomas Burberry Monogram

Launched in August 2018, The Thomas Burberry Monogram was created by Riccardo Tisci and designed in collaboration with British art director and graphic designer Peter Saville. It features on its own or as an all-over-print across ready-to- wear, silks, shoes, and accessories in Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
