Although, most of us like what Slimane did to Yves Saint Laurent, hint naming it Saint Laurent and introducing all kinds of leather biker jackets, we are not sure that him replacing Philo is the best match. That is because we love the tailored-bohemian Philo made Céline during her ten years at the brand. The fashion industry was confused as well. With Edward Enninful congratulating Slimane on the new venture, while others, like Leandra Medine, questioning what this move would do the the femininity and the female empowerment Philo brought to Céline.

In either case we are very much looking forward to seeing the new collection (he will also introduce menswear and couture) being presented during Paris Fashion Week in September, and following Phoebe Philo wherever her talent may take her.
