Maud and Fram

August 31, 2017
In the autumn of 2017, the brand Maud and Fram enter the Norwegian market. Behind the two new major initiatives of Høyer stand motegründer Ørnulf Høyer, designer Sophie Noel Vanay and chief designer Thomas Frodahl.

Maud is inspired by strong women. The higher vision is to create a brand of apparel that stands out in the crowd and which is of good quality. We will create unique but useful clothes that are easy to fall in love with and that you can return to time after time. Each collection MAUD launches will be inspired by an iconic woman. Through her, new combinations of traditional and untraditional materials, and silhouettes of past and present, are created.

For AW17, Maud has inspired us by Queen Maud. She was an international style icon that was not afraid to challenge the beauty of the day, and went its own ways. She was a sporty and strong woman, and her unique style we want to move on.

Heavy materials, rich stands and contrasts inspired by the fashion of the time where the East met the West, and where the aristocratic encountered the Bohemian are the foundations of the AW17 collection. Exclusiveness and comfort are central, and a playful approach to standing and form blended with bulky silhouettes and tight lines allows for exciting combination possibilities, and women's changing needs are covered. Tightly textured velvet and metallic elements lift the garments into the luxurious, while embroidered ears and dark tones in combination with dough pastels help create a dramatic look. Velvet jackets, luxurious kimonos and exciting knitwear are just a few of the keypieces for the AW17.

In addition, Higher MAUD Ateliér launches - a small and exclusive collection of party dresses for the very special occasions. The skirts are manufactured with stunning European fabrics in a first class athlete, and are pearl-handed by hand. MAUD Ateliér comes in a very limited edition.

The inspiration behind the new initiative Fram is Høyer's great-grandfather - polar hero and peace prize winner Fridtjof Nansen. The clothes are nostalgic, but reflect a modern age spirit. Our desire for a simplified existence and cleaner conscience has contributed to a greater focus on environmentally friendly and sustainable materials. We are willing to spend more on less, but at the same time expect a lasting and more meaningful connection to our garments. Therefore, we have placed great emphasis on details, crafts and heritage. FRAM's collections offer contemporary classics with a twist. Our vision is to create a mark where the seasons glide over each other, and where the different garments can be used irrespective of the season. Technical and natural textiles keep you warm and dry in winter, and cool and breathable in the summer. This, combined with elements that can be styled up and down, emphasizes the message of a timeless and clean design.

The color palette is familyy and harmonious, ranging from cold gray tones through warm beige and deep blue to shades of burgundy colors that survive trends.

FRAM combines quality and simplicity with an ambition of increased awareness and a healthier relationship with clothes - a counterweight to today's growing focus on fast-fashion.
