EGER Shopping Galley is Oslo´s most trendy department store with 22 different concepts and over 400 different brands. They have Nordic brands like Stine Goya, Ganni and ByTimo, and international brands like Fendi, Dries Van Noten, Lanvin, Chloé, Stella McCartney, Jonathan Adler, Diptyque and Givenchy.
Steen & Strøm Department Store contains five floors of exclusive shopping. Here you can find styles for every gender and every age. They offer a mix of Nordic and international designers like Filippa K and Tiger of Sweden to Wolford, Gant and Ralph Lauren. Check out Bare Philosophy, Norway’s largest underwear store, for the latest trends in underwear and swimwear.
Akersgata hosts one of the most exclusive boutiques in Oslo, the multibrand store Vincci. Here you will find brands like Manolo Blahnik and Dior. Mulberry´s flagship store in Norway is also located in Akersgata, along with the design concept store Vitra, where you can indulge in classic and contemporary furniture by the likes of Eames. The latest addition to the street is Jacob Cohën's flagship store. Jacob Cohën is well known for their fantastic denim quality and their trademark ponyskin back-labels.
At Egertorget you can get the most exclusive selection of brands and styles of jewelry at David-Andersen, one of Norway’s oldest jewelry houses.
If you are more of a watch kind of person, you should check out Urmarker Bjerke, on Nedre Slottsgate, for classic brands like Rolex and Cartier.
Also on Nedre Slottsgate you can shop the latest fashion from brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Burberry, Bottega Veneta and Hermès.
On Prinsens gate you will find Isabel Marant, Fred Perry, A.P.C., Aesop, and the multi-brand store Kamikaze, the latter is packed with beautiful designer shoes from brands like Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin and Salvatore Ferragamo.
Where to eat:
Promenaden is full of trendy places to eat. You can get all vegan food to a meaty burrito.
To start off the day, go for vitamins and an energy boost at The Juciery at EGER Shopping Gallery.
Do you need some some ice cream too cool down in the heat? This summer the Norwegian ice cream brand ‘Diplom Is’ has opened a pop-up store in Øvre Slottsgate, packed with all our favorites. Howevr, for a healthier choice, you can get vegan popsicles at Oslo Raw.
For lunch, check out the food court located at Steen & Strøm Department Store. There you will find cuisine from every corner of the world. From the best pizza in Oslo at Mamma Pizza to perfectly balanced Thai food at EatThai, or maybe you want to try the famous Norwegian salmon? PinkFish serves fresh salmon in many different ways. And, make sure you do not miss out on Scandi favorite Lakrids for some salty treats.
For dinner, experience a little piece of France in Oslo at Brasserie France. They have a rich menu full of French delicacies and an excellent staff that will guide you through the food journey. Try the onion soup on a rainy day or the dessert trolley for a sweet treat after dinner.
Where to stay:
Are you looking for high standards and long traditions – go for Hotel Continental. The hotel is adorned with art inside and also contains much of Edward Munch´s graphic works. The famous restaurant Theatercafeen is also situated at Hotel Continental.
Maybe you would like an ocean view and enjoy an evening drink on a rooftop? Then the hotel Grims Grenka is perfect for you. Located in Kongens gate, they are the first design hotel in Norway, and the rooftop bar Q Lounge is named one of the top fifteen rooftop bars in Europe.
Do you want to sleep where the Nobel Peace Prize winner does? Then the Grand Hotel is the place for you. Located in Karl Johans gate, it is one of the oldest hotels in Oslo. In the older days, it was known for being a hangout spot for the creative artists and intellectuals like Henrik Ibsen. Now you can eat lunch in beautiful surroundings at Palmen or Grand Café. They also have a relaxing spa and a rooftop bar.
Huglife experience is a fun and colorful art installation in Øvre- and Nedre Slottsgate. You will also find the art project inside Steen & Strøm Department Store and at the entrance of EGER Shopping Gallery. Reed more about the project here.
