Hermès unveils their newly located store in Nedre Slottsgate 15.
The newly refurbished store is designed by Denis Montel, creative director of the french architecture company, RDAI.
All of Hermès’ departments is available in the new retail space, designed by interior architects Jerry Shael and Elise Delestre from RDAI. The space spans over 190 square meters and is divided into four rooms where you will find ready-to-wear, leather, equestrian, perfume, shoes and jewellery — not to mention homeware and watches for men and women.
The different rooms signifies four specific moods and a different atmosphere, the store is based on the concept of sequencing which is beautifully expressed through the choice of fabrics in the carpets to the lighting, to walls made out of warm stucco, wood and deep navy coloured fabrics. “The reason for these choices is to give a feeling of walking into someone’s house or apartment, where you are moving from living room to corridor, to another room and so on. It will give you an idea of a warm and a homey feeling”, says Montel.
Hermès offers a touch of french elegance to the capitol of Oslo, both externally and internally. “What is interesting with this new location is that the structure is quite similar to french architecture, the exterior feels like a fusion between art deco and art nouveau”, says Creative Director of RDAI, Denis Montel.
