Louis Vuitton Travel Books 2017

June 15, 2017
In May 2017, Louis Vuitton launched three new cities for the travel guides illustrated by artists from all over the world. The comic artist Esad Ribic draws Hawaii in a lush and realistic style, while Nicolas de Crecy shows Mexico as a country filled with poetry, and eventually EBoy, a pioneer in pixel art, illustrates the soul of Tokyo.

Exhibitions of the original drawings will be presented at the same time as the launch of the books around the world. Nicolas de Crecy's original drawings from the travel book Mexico will be shown in the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City next autumn.

Louis Vuitton travel books are an invitation to real and virtual travel. Illustrations of famous artists and young promising talents tell stories about cities and countries they have visited, depicting each place with its unique architecture, special light and the life of the locals.

Beyond the pictorial books, they highlight a broad horizon of art. The creative world is diverse: during its travels, artists from different corners of the world were free to choose their way of expression and convey their views through drawing, painting, collage, contemporary art, illustration or comics. Some of the original works made from these trips have been purchased by Louis Vuitton and become part of the contemporary art collection put together by the company.

The books are now available at Louis Vuitton on Promenaden.
