With twice the size and new updated Art Deco-inspired design the new Kaffebrenneriet at Akersgata 16 is open. With its delicious coffee and long history, Kaffebrenneriet is definitely a must visit in Promenaden. 

The History behind Kaffebrenneriet in Akersgata 16: 

Akersgata is filled with history. It was one of the most trafficked streets going from the Akershus Fortress to the old Aker Church and Aker farm already from the 1300s. The building of Akersgata 16 was a shopping centre with a coffee bar already in 1960s before it was turned into office. 

The building has now been refurbished and brought back to its glory of the 1930s. Kaffebrenneriet has used this as inspiration for their Art Deco design.
